Drive the ancient Via Egnatia via Amphipolis (view the funerary Lion of Amphipolis) to Philippi, site of Europe’s first Christian church.
Visit the Baptistery of Lydia, Forum, early Christian basilicas, and the “Prison of Paul.”
Continue to Kavala (ancient Neapolis), where Paul first landed in Europe (AD 50).
Return to Thessaloniki for an old-town tour: White Tower, Byzantine walls of the Acropolis, Arch of Galerius, Rotunda, and churches of Hagios Demetrios and Hagia Sophia.

Stop in Veria to view the Bema of St. Paul.
